Foresight provides regulatory intelligence for Indian tax work. This notice explains what personal data each part of Foresight uses, for what purpose, and how long it is kept. Questions or requests: taxmancalling@gmail.com.
Our rule
Foresight receives only what you choose to submit. It does not inspect pages in the background, read your chats, or capture your screen.
Ask
- Your question is sent to our servers to search the regulatory corpus and to an AI model provider to write the answer.
- If you are signed in, your questions and answers are saved to your question history so you can return to them.
- For service improvement we keep an aggregate log of questions with personal identifiers (such as GSTINs, PANs, emails and phone numbers) automatically removed, without your account or IP address. Automatic removal is not perfect, so avoid including unnecessary personal or client details.
Verify
- Before anything is sent, names, phone numbers, email addresses, GSTINs, PANs, Aadhaar and bank details, and addresses are removed on your device, and you see exactly what will be checked. You can choose to send the original text instead; we ask you to confirm first.
- The submitted text is used only for that check: it is converted to a search embedding and read, together with official evidence, by an AI model provider. It exists only for the duration of the request.
- We do not store the text you submit for verification, or the result, in any database, history or log. We record only content-free statistics: the type of input, the result category, the number of evidence items, timing, whether redaction was applied and whether you were signed in.
- Links you submit are compared with documents in our corpus. We do not open or read the linked page.
Watch
- To send Watch emails we keep your email address, the topics you watch, and your alert settings, until you stop watching or delete your account.
- Email delivery logs at our provider record the recipient and delivery status.
- If you start a free trial we may send up to six emails about it (a welcome, tips, and reminders before and after it ends). They contain only counts and dates, never your questions, and each has an unsubscribe link. We record that a message was sent, not its content.
Chrome extension
- The extension has no access to pages until you invoke it, by right-clicking selected text, a link or an image, or by opening the side panel. It then receives only the selected text or the clicked link, never the rest of the page.
- After you confirm a verification, the extension can add a small result card to the page you started from. The card shows the status and sources, does not read the page, and is drawn only on that page. You can turn it off in the extension's settings.
- It stores only your sign-in session and preferences in Chrome. It does not store the material you verify.
- It connects only to Foresight and to our authentication provider.
Android app (share sheet)
When you share a message to Foresight, the text is held on your phone until you choose to verify it. It is not sent to our servers before you tap Verify, and it is not kept in the app's storage.
Accounts and payments
- Signing in (with Google or email) gives us your email address and, where provided, your name.
- Payments are handled by Razorpay. We receive the status of your subscription, not your card or bank details.
Service providers
We use the following providers to run Foresight. They process data on our behalf and some may store it outside India.
- Supabase — database, authentication and search
- Vercel — website and server hosting
- Sarvam AI — the AI model that writes answers and reads verification evidence
- Resend — email delivery
- Razorpay — payments
- Google — sign-in, if you choose it
Professional confidentiality
If you are a Chartered Accountant or other professional, check that you are authorised to share any client material before submitting it. Foresight's on-device redaction is designed to help you send less, but you remain responsible for what you choose to send.
Your choices and rights
You can stop watching topics or change settings on your account page. To access, correct or delete your personal data, or to withdraw consent, email taxmancalling@gmail.com. We will respond as required by India's Digital Personal Data Protection law.
Not currently offered
Foresight does not currently offer WhatsApp or other chat-platform agents. If it does, this notice will explain before you can use them that messages sent to such an agent are shared with Foresight and the platform provider and are not equivalent to a private person-to-person chat.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above.
